1. DJ를 시작하기 전, 좋아했던 음악은 어떤 것들인지도 궁금해요.
중고등학교때 제일 좋아하던 음악 장르를 꼽자면 클래식이에요. 연주회도 정말 많이 보러 다니고, 좋아하는 오케스트라와 지휘자 앨범 구하려고 애도 많이 썼어요. 클래식을 듣다가 우연한 기회에 전자음악을 듣게 되어서 관심이 생기고 그 후론 거의 미니멀과 테크노에만 빠졌던 것 같아요. 그 시절의 저는 고전음악 작곡가 중엔 쇼스타코비치를 좋아했고 전자음악가 중에는 스벤바스를 좋아했었어요. 사실 또래 친구들이랑은 취향이 잘 안맞았어서 연주회도 혼자 가고 테크노도 혼자듣고 했었어요.
2. 요즘 가장 많이 듣고 있다!하는 트랙이 있다면?
시시때때로 많이 바뀌는데 요즘엔 Xosar의 새앨범 Let Go, Nick Höppner의 Folk라는 앨범을 많이 들어요. 특히 Xosar의 앨범은 스펙트럼도 넓고 정말 완성도있는 앨범이라고 생각해요. Nick Hoppner의 앨범은 제가 평소에 즐겨듣는 스타일은 아니지만 좋아하는 레이블에서 나온 신보라서 듣게 됐는데, 사람들이 제가 이런거 듣는다고 하면 안어울린다고 해요. 전 그렇게 생각 안하는데(웃음)
3. 디제잉 뿐 아니라 프로듀싱도 하고 있어요. 작업 방식에 대해 설명해 주세요.
다양한 시도들을 하는걸 좋아해요. 요즘엔 Supercollider라는 툴로 사운드를 코딩하고 있어요. Superposition이라는 트랙은 처음부터 끝까지 수퍼콜라이더로만 흘러가는 음악이에요. 창박과 만든 프로젝트앨범 Monokord – Theorem 에서는 실제로 녹음한 소리들도 많이 썼고.. 앞으로 더 새롭고 재미있는 방법으로 작업해보고 싶어요.
1. What tracks you listen most recently?
It’s changing many times actually. Recently, I listen Xosar’s new album ‘Let go’, and the album ‘Folk’ of Nick Höppner. Especially, Xosar’s new album covered wide range and magnificent piece of work. It’s not exactly the type of mine for Nick’s album but it released from one of my favorite label. People are laughing when I said.
They think it’s not suit for me, but I don’t think so.
2. What about your favorite ones before start DJing?
Back in my middle and high school, my favorite was Classic. I watched the concert a lot and tried to get the albums of favorite orchestra and conductor. Accidently, I listened Electronic music and had a strong interest, then fell into Minimal and Techno. At that time, Shostakovich and Sven Vath were my best. Well my music tastes is very different
from my friends, it was all alone to go classic concert and listened techno.
3. You are Producer as well as DJ Can you explain a bit for your work style?
I loved to try different approaches. I use the tool, Supercollider for coding recently, the track Superposition is the one that use for this. The project album with Chang Park ‘Monokord – Theorem’, I used the live recordings much and it’s excited to try the other one for next time.

Ancient Future : Vurt
Club Vurt is located in Hapjeongdong, Seoul. Based on futuristic sound with raw beats and repeated rhythm, it aims for the happiness from dancing which can be the essence of the dance music.
Tim Walter who had been worked in international sound company “Allen & Heath” is in charge with Sound Engineer, satisfying the sound optimized to Electronic music. UNJIN, SUNA (aka DJ Flamenco), Soolee, DJI who are famous for their progressive style, make the sound of Vurt together.
Organizing regular party with inviting international artists, and collaborate with Korean Techno Labels, ECI Korea and LESS N LESS.
