제 이름은 SOLAII 입니다. 독일 출신의 테크노 & 하우스 음악 애호가입니다.
My name is SOLAII, techno & house music enthusiast from Germany.
2. 어떤 음악들을 좋아하며 성장 했나요?
저는 6살때부터 피아노와 첼로를 배우기 시작했고, 많은 클래식 음악을 들으며 자랐어요. 제가 가장 좋아하는 클래식 작곡가는 Rachmaninov, Liszt & Brahms 입니다. 그러다 14살이 되던 해 저는 Die Sekte, Aggro Berlin 등의 아티스트를 따라 독일 힙합에 뛰어들기 시작했어요. 16살 때 처음으로 Anthony Rother, Akufen&Moonbootica 와 같은 아티스트들의 음악을 듣고 일렉트로닉 음악을 알게되었습니다.
Starting to learn how to play piano & cello from the age of 6, I grew up listening to lots of classical music. My favourite classical composers to this day are Rachmaninov, Liszt & Brahms. By the age of 14, I started to get into German hip hop, following artists such as “Die Sekte”, “Aggro Berlin” & more. At the age of 16, I first started to discover electronic music, listening to artists such as Anthony Rother, Akufen & Moonbootica.
3. DJ를 시작하게 된 계기는?
고등학교때부터 DJ하는 친구가 있었어요. 그 친구를 보고 저도 dj를 하고 싶다는 생각을 하게 되었는데, 마침 저의 좋은 친구가 DJ에 도전해보라고 격려해주는거에요. 그래서 용기를 가지고 그 때부터 레스토랑에서 아르바이트해서 번 돈으로 DJ 장비를 사서 스스로 연습을 시작했어요. 그렇게 제 dj 역사가 시작되었습니다.
After watching one of my high-school friends starting a DJ career, years later another really good friend of mine encouraged me to try it out. So I bought some DJ equipment with money I earned from working in a restaurant at that time & started to teach myself. The rest is history.
4. 지금의 스타일을 만드는데 가장 큰 영향을 준 아티스트나 음악이 있다면?
제가 가장 영감을 얻은 몇 명의 예술가를 지명해야 한다면 Sven Väth, Plastikman, Paul Kalkbrenner, Sasha & DJ Koze를 꼽고싶어요. 그들 모두는 타 음악 장르에 열린 마음을
가지고 있으면서도 자신만의 유니크한 사운드를 가지고 있어요.
If I would have to name a few artists that I draw the most inspiration from, it would definitely have to be Sven Väth, Plastikman, Paul Kalkbrenner, Sasha & DJ Koze. All of them have their own unique sound with an open mind to other music.
5. 믹스믹스 청자들에게 추천할 만한 다른분의 믹스셋이 있다면?
최근에 들었던 가장 기억에 남는 믹스셋 중 하나는 ADE 2013에 Hunee의 라이브 녹음이에요. 그는 청취자들을 광범위한 음악 장르 여행으로 이끌어요.
One of the most memorable mixsets I listened to recently was definitely Hunee’s live recording at ADE 2013. The way Hunee takes the listener on a journey through a vast array of music genres & generations is incredible. A real story.
6. 현재 하고 있는 파티나 크루에 대한 소개해주세요.
우리는 최근에 ISO 라는 파티 시리즈를 시작했어요. Ian L., David Eps, Hogun, Pascal Dior
& NDF 와 같은 로컬 크루 멤버들과 같이요. ISO의 목표는 한국의 언더 음악을 홍보하고 아직 경험하지 못한 사람들이 쉽게 다가와서 접할 수 있도록 하는거에요.
We recently started a party series named ISO, with local crew members such as Ian L., David Eps, Hogun, Pascal Dior & NDF. Our goal with ISO is to promote underground music in Korea and make it more accessible to people who haven’t experienced it yet.
7. 음악 활동 외 시간에는 주로 무엇을 하나요?
음악을 듣지 않으면 엔터테인먼트 산업에서 티비나 라디오 진행자, 모델로 일을 해요.
When I don’t do music, I work in the entertainment industry as a TV & radio host & model.
8. 남은 올해의 목표는?
2016년도나 2017년도 초에 저의 첫번째 EP를 발표하고 싶어요.
I would like to release my first EP within 2016 or the beginning of 2017.
