1. 어떤 음악들을 좋아하며 성장했나요? (좋아하는 아티스트, 곡, 장르 불문)

춤출 수 있는 음악이면 모두.
근데 거의 힙합일 듯 해요. 지금 보다 어릴 때엔 적절하게(!) 차려 입고, 여기서 적절하게는 약간 갱스터 같아 보이는 차림에 가사에 맞춰서 춤을 추는 게 좋아서 힙합 클럽을 많이 갔었어요. 음악에 헤비한 베이스가 들어가 있거나 자극적이고 공격적이고 약간은 성적인 가사들이 있으면 행복했죠. 그러다가 EDM을 듣게 되었는데 소리가 정확하게 제 뇌속의 어딘가를 자극하고 호르몬을 분출하게 만든다는게 굉장하게 느껴졌어요. 힙합으로는 갈 수 없었던 어떤 곳에 이끌어 주었다고 할까요.

2. 지금 하고 있는 음악에 가장 큰 영향을 미친 아티스트가 있다면?

Martinez brothers: 플레이가 있는 날 일어나서 가장 먼저 하는 일이 아이폰 배경화면을 Martinez brothers로 바꾸는 거예요. 저를 어떤 “모드”로 만들어줘서 제가 DJ를 처음 시작하게 된 그 순간을 기억하게 해줘요. 바로 즐기는거요. 그들이 셋을 트는 동안에 웃지 않는 모습을 찾기가 어려워요. 그리고 이들이 사람들에게 전달하는 그 행복한 기운이 제가 진심으로 추구하는 거예요. 저는 플로어의 사람들과 함께 즐기고 호흡하는데 집중하는 DJ들을 사랑하고 존경하는데 Martinez brothers가 바로 그 예입니다!
Brodinski: 모든 것에 오픈되어 있는 아티스트도 존경하는데, Bromance 소속 아티스트들이 거의 그래요.

3. 뉴욕에서 활동했어요. 어떻게 뉴욕에서 DJ를 시작했는지 궁금해요.

NYU에서 공부했는데 학교 친구들과 같이 어울리기 보다는 클럽에서 만난 친구들과 시간을 더 많이 보냈어요. 단순히 함께 놀기 보다는 서로에게 영감을 많이 주었는데, 이걸 알아차리기 전에 어느샌가 이들과 함께 Booth에서 Djing을 하고 있었죠.

1. What kind of music haave you listened to?

Anything that I could dance to.
Mostly hiphop though. I went to hiphop clubs way more often then I do now when I was younger. Dressed myself in certain ways, dance to lyrics and showing off gang signs all that as long as the tracks had that “fat bass” and “nasty/offending/sexual lyrics” , I was happy. Then, I was exposed to EDM. Amazed by the fact that sounds can directly hit the
exact spot of your brain and stimulate-spout, gush out “the hormone”. It definitely took me to a place where hiphop could never take me.

2. Which artist affects you the most?

Martinez brothers: First thing I do when I wake up on my gig day, I change my iPhone wallpaper to Martinez brothers. It gets me into the “mode” and reminds me why I started this: to enjoy. It is hard to spot them not smiling during their sets and the way they promote the happy vibe is something I sincerely pursue. I love and respect DJs who are focused on making the connection and enjoy the night WITH the crowd. and Martinez brothers are the perfect example.
Brodinski: I respect artists who are open to literally everything. I love all Bromance artists.

3. You were based in N.Y before. How did you start Djing?

I studied at NYU, but I didn’t really hang out with friends from school, instead, I met brothers during weekends in clubs. Not only we played together, but we inspired each other. Before I get to realize it, I was DJing in the same booth with them.
