1. 얼마 전 한국을 다녀갔어요. 레드불 쓰리스타일에 심사위원으로 참가했는데, 어떤 경험이었나요?

일단 한국에 다시 오게 되어서 너무 좋아요 (이번에 세번째 방문입니다) 좋은 사람들, 맛있는 음식, 멋진 분위기. 이 모든 것들 때문에 한국이 좋아요. 이번 쓰리스타일에 함께 하게 된 것 역시 굉장히 행복하구요. 좀 더 오래 머무를 수 있다면 좋았을거예요.

2 쓰리스타일의 2012년 챔피언이기도 해요. 음악을 하는 사람으로서 ‘대회에서의 우승’은 어떤 의미가 있나요?

쓰리스타일 대회에서 우승한다는 건 분명히 삶에 있어서 큰 변화를 가져오는 일이예요. 많은 기회들을 가질 수 있고, 챔피언으로 매체나 외부에 노출되는 일들도 굉장히 많죠. 하지만 우승자 뿐만 아니라 참가자 역시도 가져갈 수 있는 부분이 많다고 생각해요. DJ에 포커스를 두고 그들을 빛나게 하는 대회이기 때문에 세상에 자신을 알릴 수 있는 기회라고 할까요. 개인적으로는 이 부분이 가장 중요하다고 생각합니다.

3. DJ 중에서 가장 존경하고 좋아하는 사람은 누구인가요?

와 너무 많은데요. 정말 많은 dj들에게 영감을 받는데 특히 자기 만의 색깔을 내기 위해 노력하는 DJ나 새로운 것을 시도하는 분들에게는 더욱 그래요. 훌륭한 DJ가 되기 위한 단 한가지의 길은 없다고 생각해요 그래서 다른 사람들이 잘 가지 않는 길을 선택하는게 좋아요. Craze나 EZ, Skratch Bastid, Jazzy Jeff, Hedspin.. 아 너무 많네요. ㅎㅎ

1. So, you attend the RB Thre3style Korea as judge, how was the feeling?

Its great to be back in Korea, I love coming out here. Great people, great food, great vibes. I’m definitely happy to be a part of this year’s Thre3style event too. I wish I could stay longer!

2. As 2012 world champion and also as the musician, what’s the meaning of win the competition. Does it bring any changes in your personal life or musical career?

Winning Thre3style can definitely change your life. It opens a lot of doors and gives the champ a lot of exposure. But really everyone involved with the competition gets a lot out of it. The event gives a lot of shine to all the djs so they can show off who they are to the world. Thats the most valuable thing in my opinion.

3. Who is your favorite DJ or respect most?

Too many to name really, but I always get a lot of inspiration from DJs who push their own individuality and make something new. There is no one way to be a great DJ, so to me the most exciting ones are the ones that chose the path less travelled. People like Craze, EZ, Skratch Bastid, Jazzy Jeff, Hedspin, … There really is too many to name.
