1. 어떤 음악을 들으며 성장했어요?

80년대엔 빌보드 차트의 팝송, 90년대 초엔 헤비메틀, 90년대 중반엔 힙합. 그러다 The Prodigy의 Firestarter, Underworld의 Born Slippy를 접한 뒤부터 일렉트로닉에 빠지게 됐어요.

2. DJ로 참여했던 공연이나 파티 중 가장 기억에 남는 순간이 있다면?

2~3년 전만 해도 스테이지 다이빙이 한국페스티벌에서 흔한 장면이 아니였는데 요즘은 자주 볼 수 있잖아요. 제가 어렸을때 헤비메탈 광팬이기도 했던지라 월드 디제이 페스티벌에서 스테이지다이빙을 무리하게 시도 했었는데 잘 타다가 중간에서 관객분들이 피하시는 바람에 땅바닥에 떨어졌던게 잘 잊혀지지 않네요.

3. 웹사이트를 보니 Movie, Music Video 등 다양한 카테고리에 본인의 결과물을 계속 올리고 계신데요. 시간과 노력이 꽤 들어가는 작업인 것 같아요. 이렇게 기록을 남기고 공개하는 이유는 무엇인가요?

저의 웹사이트는 www.djbeejay.com인데요. DJ가 해야 하는 일이라 하는 거에요. 사실 전 DJ를 배운적이 없고 혼자 시작해서 혼자 터득한 케이스라 후배를 가르치는 방법을 잘 모르겠더라구요. 그래서 그냥 제가 하는걸 보고 따라했으면 좋겠다는 마음으로 이것저것 보여줘요. 저도 외국의 실력있는 DJ들이 어떻게 하고 있나 늘 모니터링 하면서 이 나이에도 배우는게 많거든요.

1. What genre of music did you listen to mostly when you were growing up?

In 80’s pop songs from Billboard. Early 90’s Heavy metal and move to Hip hop in mid 90’s. Then I listened the track “Firestarter” by The Prodigy and “Born Slippy” by Underworld. That’s when I fell in to Electronic music.

2. Do you have special or memorable moment in party or festival attended as DJ?

It’s bit common nowadays, but Stage diving is not that common just a couple of years ago. Like I said, I was the big fan of the Heavy Metal. So I tried it (Stage diving) at World DJ Festival. It was good at first but some crowds are avoiding me and I fall. I can’t forget that moment.

3. While I’m checking your website, you keep uploading Movies, Music Videos and lot of other products in various categories. It needs pretty lots of time and efforts. Is there a special reason to archive or share with others?

www.djbeejay.com. This is my website. I think this is what DJ should do. Actually, I never learned DJing. Just started by myself and learned it alone. I have no idea how to teach or give tips to others. So, I try to show them that maybe they can learn from it. It’s same for me to learn from Int’l DJ’s by monitoring their clips.
