1. 훌륭한 DJ의 조건, 요건이 뭐라고 생각하세요?
기본적인 비트매칭과 EQ를 만지는 건 DJ라면 모두가 할 수 있는 기본 기술이지만 선곡이야말로 자기만의 감성과 개성 그리고 플로어 분위기를 살리는 훌륭한 DJ가 되는 중요 요소가 아닌가 생각합니다.
2. 주로 플레이 하는 음악은 어떤 스타일인가요?
DISCO, Italo DISCO, FUNKY, Nu DISCO , French house 이고 요즘엔 92년도의 TECHNO와 더불어 파생된 레이브 문화에 흥미를 붙이고 있습니다.
3. 한국 클럽씬이나 이 음악씬에서 아쉬운 점이 있다면 어떤 게 있을까요?
매 해마다 3~4개 정도의 대형 DJ페스티벌이 개최가 되는데 헤드라이너들이 수년사이에 왔던 디제이들이 또 오고 해서 다양성이 사라지는 게 아쉽습니다. 개성 있는 디제이들과 스테이지들이 많이 생겨났으면 좋겠습니다.
1. What ability do you think to become a great DJ?
Basically DJ should be able to match the beat and control the EQ. It’s pretty basic skills, but the track selection is most difficult and critical part. Emotions, characters and make the good atmosphere on the floors, all of these things considered in the playlist.
2. What kind of genres do you usually playing?
Disco, Italo Disco, Funky, Nu disco and French house. Also have interest in Techno tracks released in 1992 and relevant Rave movements.
3. What do you think the shortcoming of Local scene?
We have 3 to 4 big DJ festivals every year and most of the headliners been Korea few times. It is sad that it hurts the diversity of the scene. Hope there are more stages or space various DJ’s can play.
